Geoffrey Grime, Vice-Chairman
Geoffrey Grime was appointed as the first Chairman of Jersey Finance in 2001, and was instrumental in setting up the organisation. He stepped down as Chairman in January 2003 upon his election to the States of Jersey as Deputy for St Mary and continued to contribute to the work of Jersey Finance as a non-executive and independent member of the board and was appointed as Vice-Chairman of Jersey Finance in July 2009.
Geoffrey has over 30 years experience in the local accountancy and trust industries. He turned Abacus Financial Services from a small department within Coopers & Lybrand into a successful group in its own right. Geoffrey also became one of Coopers’ youngest partners at the age of 24.
Geoffrey has had several appointments to advisory posts on States and Industry bodies, including two remuneration Review Groups, and was the President of the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants. He retired from the States of Jersey in 2005 and is now the Chairman of EFG Offshore Limited, Jersey Electricity PLC and CPA Global, as well as other local directorships.
