Christine Whitfield, Head of Special Projects
Christine joined Jersey Finance in July 2008 as Head of Special Projects with responsibility for delivering strategic Board initiatives. Initial projects have focused on the analysis of key markets for their business potential and feasibility and market access issues.
Christine joined Coopers and Lybrand in Jersey in 1986 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989. She then transferred to the wealth management side of the business, Abacus Financial Services Group, where she managed offshore structures for international private clients. She was made a director in 1997 and assumed responsibility for group board strategic projects including the implementation of new firm wide systems and processes, the expansion of the business into the UK and the creation of a financial consulting business of which she was operations director between 2002 and 2005. Following the acquisition of Abacus by RBC in 2005 Christine was involved with the integration of the two businesses.
Christine obtained a BA(Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury and began her working life as an economist in the airline industry. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and qualified as a TEP. She also holds the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) qualification issued by the Personal Finance Society.
