Couple Receive Recognition for Long Service

These days it is rare to find someone who has dedicated the majority of their career to one company, so it was with a mixture of fondness, gratitude and sadness that, at the end of 2011, Voisin law firm said goodbye to a couple who gave nearly 30 years of loyal service between them.
Husband and wife Bob and Sandra Hingston were seen off by their colleagues at the Voisin and Volaw Christmas party, where their long service to the company was celebrated. One of Voisin’s longest-serving employees, Sandra, commenced employment on 19 March 1990. She had a pivotal role in the firm as personal assistant to Managing Partner Ian Strang.
He says: ‘Sandra was my personal assistant but she contributed so much more to the smooth running of the firm. Sandra gained an enormous amount of knowledge of the firm’s IT systems, and was on hand to instruct all staff in the implementation of the new Microsoft 2010 software roll-out. Her approachable and caring manner meant that staff could discuss any issues with her, both work and personal matters. Sandra is also very active in charity work, and became Honorary Secretary of the Jersey Haemophilia group two years ago.’
Bob joined Sandra at work on 1 February 2005. He was messenger for both Voisin and Volaw trust company. Ian Strang said: ‘His boundless energy, cheerful disposition and willingness to help was appreciated by all staff. He was a great ambassador of professionalism and he will be sorely missed by all. The Partners and staff of Voisin and Volaw trust company wish Bob and Sandra a long, healthy and happy retirement.’
Bob has passed his love of football and music onto their twin grandsons, with whom they intend to spend more time. Their immediate plans are to go on a well-deserved holiday, spend some time in their garden, and help their son with some decorating.
