Higher Education Fair attracts leading universities from around the world and a new Sponsor

The 2010 Higher Education Fair looks set to be another successful event in the Careers Jersey diary. Up to 66 universities from the UK, as well as representatives from Australia and New Zealand, will be coming to Jersey to take part in the annual exhibition, making this once again a very comprehensive event. Taking place at Hautlieu School on Thursday 11th March the event has secured significant sponsorship from Capita Fiduciary Group which has its head office in Jersey. In addition to giving the Island’s students a chance to find out more about the universities on show, there will be a range of special seminars providing information on topics such as how to choose a course and university, teaching and on subjects such as teaching, veterinary medicine & law. Before and after the fair university representatives will also be visiting schools to give talks and lead interactive workshops to encourage students, aged 14 and above, to think about the idea of higher education and the options available to them. “The Fair gives local students a great opportunity to talk directly to universities about their options and start to gain varied and extensive information that will help them make important decisions that lie ahead of them.” said Careers Jersey’s Alan Williams. Hopefully, this generation will make their way back to Jersey and their skills and experience will contribute to the continued success of our island.
