Things to bear in mind
The island is quieter and more sedate than other finance centres and cities – the main high-street and large out-of-town shops are not open late or on Sundays (apart from the run-up to Christmas).
The pace of island life is slower and whist there is plenty to do in the summer, the winter can be rather long, as many of the islands’ attractions close during these months and the choice of outdoor activities is reduced.

So during brief periods of bad weather items can not be delivered and the same is true for ferries and flights in/out of the island.
