About the Work Experience Week
This week-long programme has been designed and organised by Jersey Finance in partnership with Education, Sport and Culture and Careers Jersey to give you the opportunity to gain valuable “real-life” work experience within the finance industry.
Objectives for the Week-long Programme
Information for Students - How the programme works
Stage One – Engagement
Student sends in completed application form with their accompanying CV to Jersey Finance
Employer (Member firm/organisation) sends in their completed “Work experience information sheet”.
Stage Two – Student matched with placements
Jersey Finance allocates students to employers (Member Firms wishing to take part) within the industry
Student contacted by Jersey Finance and informed of organisation placement with Member firm.
Stage Three – Student makes contact with placement Member Firm
Student contacts Member firm to organise introductory meeting.
Stage Four – Employer (Member Firm) and student meet
All necessary forms and student agreement are signed with key contact
Project allocated by mentor (someone within the organisation who will act as a
supervisor). This person will also discuss the set tasks for the week (see separate worksheet).
Stage Five – Work experience takes place
Tasks and project undertaken.
Stage Six – Work experience evaluation
Mentor and student discuss learning objectives for the week and complete the provided evaluation sheet (this is in student booklet).

Necessary forms and inductions will be given by staff within the businesses. introduction to supervisors for the week
During the week-long work experience students will receive a range of tasks in envelopes from Jersey Finance
Days 2, 3 and 4 – 9.00am – 5.00pm
Continue with work experience all day
Tasks and envelopes will be handed out accordingly
Day 5 – 12.00pm
