Jersey Undergraduate Internship 2011

Launched in 2006, the Jersey Undergraduate Internship is an exciting initiative developed and supported by Economic Development. The programme works to facilitate challenging and meaningful, 8 week, work placements for Jersey undergraduates in Jersey businesses over the summer holiday period.

The objectives of the programme are:

  • To introduce local undergraduates to the professional opportunities available in Jersey in a wide variety of sectors;
  • To provide an avenue for local employers to meet and work alongside prospective, high calibre, local employees; and
  • To assist and encourage young Jersey people to develop new and existing skills through invaluable work experience.

All undergraduate interns will be paid for the work they do. Whilst employers must pay at least the minimum wage, Economic Development will make a grant contribution to the employer of £125 per week for an 8 week placement. Employment for terms longer than 8 weeks are welcome, however payments to the employer are limited to a maximum of £1,000.
