A presentation by Mark Summers, Partner, Speechly Bircham, London and Victoria Yates , Managing Associate, Ogier on Family Limited Partnerships in estate planning took place at Jersey Finance on Tuesday 8th September.
The Presentation covered the following topics;
- Use of FLPs as an alternative to trusts and foundations
- Tax treatment and the extent to which FLPs are a solution
- The way in which a typical FLP operates
The focus was on how FLPs differ from trusts, the advantages of using Jersey FLPs compared with UK FLPs and which target market will be most interested in this type of structure.
