US and International Sanctions Risk - A Hidden Danger

Compliance with domestic and international sanctions regimes has become a key challenge for financial institutions handling millions of transactions annually. The consequences of breaching a sanction can be extremely serious and almost always leads to significant reputational damage.
In this presentation, Stephen Platt, Group Chairman, BAKERPLATT, will examine:
- The U.S. OFAC sanction regime and its extra-territorial implications
- The emergence of claims in US courts against non US financial institutions under Anti Terrorism legislation.
