Update on the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme

Wednesday 11th August , 16:00-17:00

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme. The scheme started in April 2010 and is administered by the Environment Agency. It is central to the UK’s strategy for improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. It has been designed to raise awareness in large organisations, especially at senior level, and encourage changes in behaviour and infrastructure.

Speakers Martin Yells and Noel Doran of UK Law Firm Taylor & Wessing,  presented a brief overview of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, looking at the qualification criteria, participation obligations, timelines and sanctions, with more detailed consideration of how the scheme applies to typical investment and trust structures and arrangements.

Christopher Bennett of Dominion Real Estate, Jersey outlined the possible impacts this may have on Jersey Structures and what it will mean for Jersey Trustees.
