The Royal Yacht
Wednesday 22nd February , 12:00-13:30
In its latest series of investment briefings, Ashburton will be discussing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for investors in their hunt for income in the current economic environment.
Following the latest austerity measures being applied in the Eurozone, and the ongoing sovereign debt crisis, the firm is inviting professional intermediaries to a breakfast or lunch seminar on Wednesday 22 February at The Royal Yacht Hotel to discuss the renewed interest and rising confidence in the US and how to find value for clients in current market conditions.
The seminar will be presented by Tristan Hanson, Head of Asset Allocation and Nick Skiming, Ashburton’s Americas Equities Specialist. The pair will also consider investing at a more behavioural level and look at how, in what is now an increasingly challenging investment environment, emotions can get in the way.
Tristan Hanson, Head of Asset Allocation, comments: “Market conditions are continually evolving at a rapid pace and sentiment is quick to change. The recent rally in equities is evidence of that. However, given the uncertain economic environment, investors understandably remain nervous.
“We are encouraged by recent developments but remain doubtful that it will be plain sailing this year given the challenges confronting policymakers around the world. In the current environment, adhering to a disciplined investment process that resists emotional reactions is critical. In a low-return world, long-run investment performance will be greatly influenced by tactical asset allocation.”
