Welcome back! In western economies people return to work in numbers today following the seasonal break. In the UK Lloyds Bank have just released their latest business confidence survey taken from a sample of 1,796 business customers
The good news is confidence continues to strengthen as illustrated by the chart sourced from the report which can be found here:
It seems that SMEs are more confident about exports in particular with the prospect of slow but steady improvement in Europe, whilst effort in newer developing growth markets appear to be paying off.
Let's hope it continues because trade means economic activity, which means investment, jobs, improved earnings and increased tax receipts.
