Jersey Finance Team Picks Up Paintbrushes For JET

Friday 21 September 2018

Last month, a team from Jersey Finance put down their pens and picked up paintbrushes for Jersey Employment Trust (JET).

JET’s primary role is to assist people with a disability to find and sustain open employment, and Acorn Enterprises is one of their vocational training areas. The Jersey Finance team helped to paint Acorn Reuse Centre in Trinity, their newly-built second hand shop, which will be opening to the public this week.

JET’s General Manager Steve Pearce commented:

“The Jersey Finance team did a fantastic job. It was a pleasure to have them all up and the work undertaken saved our team hours of work.”

Amy Bryant, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Finance, explained: “We were delighted to help JET with this project. Their second-hand shop plays a vital role in fundraising for the fantastic initiatives they run up at Acorn and in the amazing life-changing work they do. In the finance industry, we’re proud to be part of the local community. Our team’s efforts were just one of many initiatives that go on behind the scenes in local finance firms.”

The Acorn Reuse Centre will be officially opened by His Excellency The Lieutenant-Governor Air Chief Marshall Sir Stephen Dalton GCB, BSc, FRAes on Wednesday 26 September and doors will open to the public the following day.
