In its 50th anniversary year, the Association of Jersey Charities is encouraging island charities to nominate their outstanding achievements and individuals as it launches the 2021 Jersey Charity Awards.

Designed to highlight professionalism and excellence within the charitable sector and to celebrate charities’ recent achievements and best practice, the Awards were first established ten years ago and are held every two years. Jersey Finance have partnered with the AJC this year as part of its own celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the island’s finance industry.

The three award categories are; Outstanding Achievement for a Large Charity, Outstanding Achievement for a Medium Charity and Outstanding Achievement for a Small Charity, with a £5,000 prize for the winner of each category as well as prizes for two runners up.

The Awards will be judged by an independent panel, who will be looking for examples of excellence, together with ideas and leadership that will inspire and from which others can learn. Winners will be announced at a special virtual Awards Tea Party on Sunday 12 September, with the event also providing an opportunity to celebrate the AJC’s 50th anniversary.

The Awards are open to any Jersey-based charity that has registered with the Charity Commission. Island charities whose work is based overseas are also eligible to enter.
