The two-day event aims to discuss and unpack the key issues facing Saudi and international family businesses, such as next generation trends, governance and succession planning.

During the main conference on Wednesday 18 September, Faizal Bhana, Jersey Finance’s Director – Middle East, Africa and India, will moderate a panel of both local and international practitioners (including representatives from Jersey-based firms) to discuss ‘Family Enterprises: Next Gen Aspirations and Preparedness’.

Faizal Bhana › Director – Middle East, Africa and India, Jersey Finance

Faizal is a UK qualified lawyer and for many years has worked and advised, and is a trusted advisor to institutions, corporates and families across the Middle East, Africa and India. Faizal specialises in banking and finance and has advised corporates, family offices and families including on their international investment and holding structures.

Faizal is responsible for developing the strategy for Jersey Finance’s engagement in Africa, the Middle East and India. He is focussed on his key markets, regularly travelling to all these countries, liaising and working with key stakeholders, including public and private institutions, corporates and families, building long-term mutually beneficial relationships.

Dan Toft

Dan Toft Director, Praxis

Born and educated in Jersey, Dan has almost 25 years’ experience providing offshore and onshore fiduciary services within the private wealth and corporate services industry. He spent the first 20 years of his career in Jersey prior to moving to Dubai with Praxis in late 2019, where he leads the Praxis team in the UAE. Throughout his career he has specialised in wealth structuring for HNW and UHNW families looking to safeguard wealth for future generations. Dan has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners since 2006.
Praxis is an independent, leading provider of bespoke private wealth, corporate administration and yacht services to companies, individuals and families who are resident in or connected to the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. We were the first licensed trustee in the ADGM and are one of only three businesses licensed to provide trust services in the region.

Alia Haskouri

Alia Haskouri Director - Head of UAE, JTC Group

Alia is Director and Head of JTC’s Dubai and Abu Dhabi Offices. She joined JTC’s Private Client Services division in 2020, having spent the previous five years with Intertrust Dubai.
Alia plays a key role in strategic development planning for JTC in the region and is also responsible for maintaining and managing client relationships, the management of corporate structures and business development across the GCC.
With over 10 years’ experience working with institutions and private clients in the DIFC, Alia has a passion for delivering the highest quality service to clients to create strong long-term relationships. Alia works with key business partners across the region and has built a strong professional network allowing her to provide tailored solutions for clients.
Alia was named as a Rising Star in Citywealth’s Power Woman Awards in 2021 and as a Rising Star under 40 in the Wealth Briefing MENA Awards in 2022.

Daniel Pacic

Daniel Pacic Managing Director, Ogier Global

Daniel Pacic joined Ogier Global in July 2023 as a Director and Middle East specialist. He is responsible for the development of the group’s presence and service offering in the UAE and wider GCC region, aimed at facilitating Governance, Risk and Compliance services for financially-regulated entities, fund administration services for SWFs, PE funds and VC funds as well as estate planning solutions for private clients and their families.
Prior to joining Ogier, Daniel held senior management and Directorship positions at other service providers such as Vistra and Intertrust. He has had several articles featured in publications such as Sovereign Wealth Quarterly and has also made guest appearances on Dubai Business Breakfast on Dubai Eye FM / Dubai One TV. Daniel's family has been based in the UAE for over 50 years and he has extensive professional and life experience in the Middle East.

Hassan Zawawi

Hassan Zawawi Partner, Alzawawi Law Firm

Hassan manages the private wealth practice at Alzawawi Law Firm. He trained at an international law firm in London and worked for two leading Saudi law firms in Jeddah and Riyadh prior to joining Alzawawi Law Firm. He has a particular focus on providing corporate and regulatory advice to private wealth clients and their businesses. He also focuses on providing legal advice in relation to acquisition transactions, corporate restructurings and advising multinational clients on setting up their businesses in the Kingdom and in relation to contentious matters. Hassan has a wide experience across various sectors including food and beverage, hospitality and hotels, casual dining, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. As well as being a qualified lawyer in Saudi Arabia, who represents clients before the Saudi courts in various disputes, he is also a qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
