Deloitte’s annual Real Estate Breakfast Seminar will be taking place virtually in Jersey next Thursday 3rd December.

Siobhan Durcan and the Deloitte Real Estate Team will be covering a number of topics involving Deloitte specialists from across the firm. Topics will include:

  • A market update exploring the trends and themes across the major UK and EU commercial property market sectors, including key changes to leasing arrangements as a result of Covid-19.
  • Key changes in the tax legislation impacting the real estate sector, including the transition from NRL tax to corporation tax, trends in tax restructuring and updates on NRCGT.
  • Digitalisation and artificial intelligence – the session will consider the cultural changes that digital transformation calls for and share practical insight into how directors and non-executive directors can implement digitalisation in their real estate investments.
  • A technical update on accounting and financial reporting hot topics relevant to the real estate sector, including key takeaways for preparing for upcoming audits.

Joining the Jersey team from Deloitte UK will be Clive Worland, Director, Real Estate Advisory; Phillip Parnell, Head of Valuation, Assurance & Professional Advisory at Deloitte Real Estate; Sheelan Shah, Partner, Investment Management Tax; Hannah Townsend, Associate Director, Real Estate Tax; Andrew Carey, Real Estate Consulting Partner.

Siobhan Durcan, Channel Island Real Estate lead at Deloitte, said: ‘Although the event might look a little different this year, we are thrilled for it to still go ahead virtually. We have great speakers who will be sharing their insights on the real estate sector at the end of a very strange year.’
