Speakers

Elliot re-joined Jersey Finance in November 2018 from Crestbridge where he managed their Management Company Services Group.

Elliot’ role is to help define Jersey’s product offering for funds as well as to oversee the strategy and execution of marketing Jersey as both a domicile and destination for Alternative Investment Managers and their funds.

Elliot moved to Jersey in 2006 to establish a Macro strategy Hedge Fund under the Ermitage umbrella for whom he also seeded other Macro / CTA strategy Hedge Funds.

Elliot founded the Jersey Hedge Fund Managers Group and the Digital Asset Managers Group aimed at linking the growing community of local Managers and is a committee member of the Jersey Funds Association, the BVCA Channel Islands working group and the islands Funds’ Innovation Committee.

Belinda Crosby

Belinda Crosby Non Executive Director, BCP

Over 20 years’ experience in Jersey Financial Services industry including successfully managing a global brand, highly respected regulated fund services business for over 10 years. Experience incorporates all aspects of management, regulation and compliance for a broad range of Jersey and non-Jersey real estate structures. A vocal supporter of “Jersey plc” sharing experience by participating in expert panels and relevant consultation processes. Most recent examples being consultation with HMRC re the changes to the UK Non-Resident Capital Gains Tax regime and its impact on the Jersey Funds industry and participation on a JRIG regarding the design of the new Jersey Funds regulatory regime. Breath of fund management experience covers real estate, real estate secured debt funds and private equity investments and structures.

Ben Robins

Ben Robins International Practice Group Head, Mourant

Ben advises on the formation, operation and financing of real estate funds and investment structures, as well as private equity, venture capital and debt funds. Ben regularly advises fund promotors, managers, investors, directors and services providers across a wide variety of asset classes. Ben is the only Jersey investment funds lawyer top-ranked in the Chamber and Partners Global Guide for Jersey in both 2019 and 2020. He is rated as one of the world's leading private funds lawyers by 'Who's Who Legal' 2019, is ranked as a leading lawyer by IFLR 1000 and recently featured in the Legal 500's 'Legal Hall of Fame UK' lawyers list, which highlights individuals who have received constant praise by their clients for continued excellence over the last 10 years. As a former Chairman, Ben remains an active committee member of the Jersey Funds Association (JFA) and is a member of AREF's Public Affairs Committee and NRCGT working group and a member of the BVCA's Channel Islands committee.

Mike Byrne

Mike Byrne Partner, PwC

Mike is a Partner based in PwC’s Jersey office and leads the Asset & Wealth Management practice across the Channel Islands. Since joining the firm in 1997, Mike has worked in both the Jersey and Singapore offices. He has extensive experience working with a wide portfolio of alternative asset management clients based in Europe and further afield, across private equity, infrastructure, hedge, and property funds. Mike leads PwC’s service offering in the alternative fund space as EMEA Alternative Funds leader and is a member of PwC’s Global Alternatives Leadership team and Global AWM Advisory team.

 Zena Couppey

Zena Couppey Chief Commercial Officer, LGL Group

Zena is responsible for the Group’s commercial client facing strategy, ensuring the seamless delivery of our client service proposition across our multi-jurisdictional business. Working closely with the Senior Executive team and Divisional heads, Zena focuses on overseeing organic growth, product development and brand. Real Estate is a core offering for LGL with over £13 AUM, acting for many SWF’s and Institutional Investors globally. With over 22 years of experience in financial services Zena has held a number of senior roles, most recently as Managing Director of Client Services at SANNE Group plc where she focused on the implementation of processes that increased client growth. Prior to this role Zena held the position of Head of Real Estate where she was well known for developing their real estate offering. Zena is a member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the International Property Forum, and recently completed her Institute of Directors Diploma.

Alex Le Quesne

Alex Le Quesne Director, Crestbridge

Alex leads our Real Estate Fund Services team and is responsible for its overall service delivery to a wide variety of client structures including both open and closed-ended funds. His experience covers a broad range of real estate asset classes and investments by both equity and debt. Alex was previously a director of a corporate trustee which acts for both regulated and unregulated property unit trusts, holding over £10bn assets in total. He has over 13 years' experience in the finance industry, including time in both the Real Estate and Corporate Finance sectors, having been employed by a major international bank. Alex is an Approved Person with the Jersey Financial Services Commission and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
