Faizal Bhana › Director – Middle East, Africa and India, Jersey Finance

Faizal is a UK qualified lawyer and for many years has worked and advised, and is a trusted advisor to institutions, corporates and families across the Middle East, Africa and India. Faizal specialises in banking and finance and has advised corporates, family offices and families including on their international investment and holding structures.

Faizal is responsible for developing the strategy for Jersey Finance’s engagement in Africa, the Middle East and India. He is focussed on his key markets, regularly travelling to all these countries, liaising and working with key stakeholders, including public and private institutions, corporates and families, building long-term mutually beneficial relationships.

Abdulhafeez Noorani

Abdulhafeez Noorani Partner, CMS Kenya | Daly Inamdar Advocates

Abdulhafeez is a Partner at CMS Kenya | Daly Inamdar Advocates. He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Professional Mediator. He has over fifteen years’ experience advising clients in Corporate and Commercial transactions and Dispute Resolution. He is well respected by clients for his practical and concise approach to the giving of legal advice. His main practice areas are property acquisition and development, mergers and acquisitions, banking securities and finance, employment matters and general commercial transactions. He also handles civil litigation and arbitration in land, employment, marine cargo and P&I claims.

Abdulhafeez trained with Kaplan & Stratton, Advocates, Nairobi and then joined Inamdar & Inamdar, Advocates in Mombasa in 2006 where he become a Partner in 2009. Since the merger with Daly & Figgis Advocates in 2016, he has been the Managing Partner of the Firm’s Mombasa Office.

Collette Akwana

Collette Akwana Partner, CMS Kenya | Daly Inamdar Advocates

Collette is a Partner at CMS Kenya | Daly Inamdar Advocates in the Dispute Resolution Department. She has specialised expertise in dispute resolution, having handled a blend of complex civil and commercial disputes. Her practice includes domestic and regional representation of parties before different courts, tribunals and other forums.

Collette’s expertise extends to data protection and she advises local and multi-national companies on the full spectrum of data protection issues arising from data protection legislation.

She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over thirteen years of experience and a certified professional mediator, accredited by the Kenyan Judiciary.

Ally Jaulim

Ally Jaulim Head of Business Development, Standard Bank International Fiduciary Services

Ally is the Head of Business Development for Standard Bank International Fiduciary Services. Ally coordinates Standard Bank’s International Fiduciary Services business development initiatives across the African continent and personally focuses on the East Africa region. Ally is a seasoned banking and finance executive with exposure to a wide range of jurisdictions in the APAC and EMEA regions. His experience spans different areas of institutional, corporate and private client such as international tax, structuring, succession planning, fiduciary and banking. Ally started his career with Sanne Mauritius in 2005, managing portfolios of institutional and corporate clients. He then moved to IQ-EQ from 2009 to 2013 where he gained wide experience in structuring tax-efficient vehicles and managing relationships for internationally based clients.

Robert Hutchinson

Robert Hutchinson Partner, Control Risks

Hutch leads & manages the Control Risks’ East Africa business where he supports clients to be secure, resilient and compliant in their market entry, operations and growth across a footprint of ten countries. Hutch is based in Nairobi, Kenya and specialises in advice to business leaders and investors on matters relating to enterprise risk, business resilience and crisis management.

Before joining Control Risks, Hutch served, as a commissioned officer in the British Army, for ten years and served on active duty on three operational deployments. Hutch’s career culminated, after Staff College, in developing cross governmental cyber policy.

Following his time in the military, Hutch worked in support a FTSE registered extractive company before joining PwC as their Africa Business Resilience Director supporting over 9,000 partners and staff across over 16 countries in the sub-Saharan region.

Wasim Noorani

Wasim Noorani Partner, Innovus Group

Wasim is a Partner at Innovus Group and is responsible for the running of the Nairobi office. He is a commercially astute finance professional, quality assurance specialist, and a qualified practicing auditor, with over 15 years of solid experience in risk mitigation, financial strategy development, and execution. He possesses extensive knowledge of the IFRS, ISAs and IAS. Wasim has handled various corporate finance assignments, risk advisory, transaction advisory, finance and tax due diligence, internal audits, business valuations and other consulting engagements. He has also been involved in working with the banks on distressed clients has prepared financial models with proposed debt restructuring plan. He has also been involved in the Independent Business Reviews of clients covering areas such as financial and business analysis and governance review.

Nina Auchoybur

Nina Auchoybur Managing Director, Ocorian

Nina is the Managing Director of Ocorian Corporate Services (DIFC) Limited, a company established in the DIFC and overviewed by the DFSA. Nina has been leading the firm’s operations in the Middle East for the past 12 years and is responsible for its growth and operations with a special focus on developing its private and corporate client offering and ensuring outstanding delivery of client services. Nina has over 25 years’ experience working across the funds, corporate services, capital markets and private client sectors, dealing with private equity and professional investors as well as with entrepreneurs and their families in developing and implementing their strategies. She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Mauritius and headed the operations department of a banking financial institution for 2 years. She has been with Ocorian for the last 23 years.

Sheetal Patel

Sheetal Patel Director – Projects and Control, KAYDEE

Sheetal is a dedicated Project Management Professional with a comprehensive experience in construction project management. She is currently a member of the senior management team at KAYDEE, a well-established construction and mining company in Mombasa, Kenya, where she has contributed significantly to the successful completion of several projects. Sheetal obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in materials science and engineering from Nottingham University in the UK. Her academic background has contributed to her work in construction project management, providing her with valuable insights and skills Prior to joining KAYDEE, Mrs. Patel worked as a Corrosion Engineer with Germanischer Lloyd SE (now DNV GL Group) based in Loughborough, UK.

Steven Ogwapit

Steven Ogwapit Managing Director, United EA Warehouses Limited

Steven has been involved in United EA Warehouses Limited, in various capacities, since its inception in 2000, and has been instrumental in steering it to a Top 100 Company in Kenya, and one of the leading logistics providers in East Africa. He has also served on the board of the Kenya Ports Authority. An architect by profession, he is the founder and Principal of Architronic Architects, a corporate member of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), where he has served as the Chairman of the AAK Mombasa Branch, and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Being an ardent believer in service to the community, he has served as the Chairman of the Rotary Club of Bahari Mombasa, Mombasa Secondary School for the Physically Handicapped, Round Tables of Eastern Africa, and Round Table Mombasa No 3. Steven is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and the Kenya Institute of Management.

Rajul Malde

Rajul Malde Commercial Director, Pwani Oil Products Limited

Rajul is a third-generation member of a family business that was founded in 1940 in trading of textile and spices. Eventually the family business transitioned to manufacturing in the 1980s and has now grown to multiple business in Kenya and abroad. Rajul is an accomplished business leader with over 20 years of experience working in the FMCG sector in East Africa and abroad. He is experienced in sales and marketing, route to market development, strategy formulation, acquisitions, and talent development. Rajul is currently the Director in charge of Sales and Marketing at Pwani Oil Products Limited. He also holds Directorships in Trufoods Limited, Mainland Manufacturers EPZ Limited amongst many other Companies in Kenya. Rajul also serves as a non-executive director at Hotpoint Appliances Limited.
