Last year, we commissioned Andrew Mitchell, Founder and CEO of Equilibrium Futures, to support us in developing a ten-year strategy to build on Jersey’s reputation as a jurisdiction of choice for sustainable finance.
At this event, we unveiled Jersey’s new sustainable finance strategy, articulated around a collective 2030 Vision with buy-in from our industry, government, and key partners, as well as an initial two-year plan to build momentum on our journey towards a sustainable future. In addition to the agenda below, attendees heard a series of insightful updates from some of our key partners in industry.

Joe Moynihan › Chief Executive Officer, Jersey Finance

With a career in financial services spanning four decades, Joe has a strong commitment to the future success of the industry in Jersey.
Joe commenced his professional life in the banking sector, rising to the position of CEO of Jersey and the Isle of Man for a major bank, which included responsibilities for trusts and investments. In recent years, he expanded his focus as Director of Financial Services within the Government of Jersey, where he worked closely with industry and regulator to ensure the island’s position as a leading international finance centre. Before joining Jersey Finance in February 2019, Joe was working to establish high-reputation regulatory frameworks and business models for IFCs in the Middle East and Africa.

Andrew Mitchell Founder and CEO, Equilibrium Futures
Andrew W. Mitchell is an international thought leader on natural capital finance and tropical forests. Founder of Equilibrium Futures, he provides strategic advice on natural capital to the finance sector; he is also Senior Adviser to Oxford think tank, Global Canopy, which he founded in 2001. As Founder and Senior Adviser to the Natural Capital Finance Alliance, he helps to design natural capital tools for banks, investors and insurers and is Senior Adviser to Mirova Natural Capital, a global impact investment fund.
