Daud Vicary Abdullah Managing Director, DVA Consulting and a Trustee at Gateway Global
Daud is the Managing Director of DVA Consulting, an Islamic Finance Advisory and a Trustee at Gateway Global . He is the former President and CEO of INCEIF-The Global University of Islamic Finance. Former Global Global Leader for Islamic Finance at Deloitte. Former CEO of two start up Islamic Banks in Malaysia. In “retirement” he focuses on using his experience to support SRI and SDG initiatives and young entrepreneurs. He is Chairman of the Board at Ethis Global. He chairs the Advisory Boards at IslamicMarkets.com and FASSET. He is a founding member of the Board of Trustees at the RFI-Foundation and the OtherDOTS Foundation. He graduated from Bristol University with BSc (Econ) in Economic and Social History. Is a CPIF (Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance) and a FCPA (Fellow of CPA Australia).
Farah Deba Partner, Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina
Farah Deba is a Partner of Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina. She is known for her specialist knowledge in multi generational inheritance & succession matters for Muslims and non Muslim families. Her work include rendering advice for trust set up, estate planning and administration covering the dual legal system of civil and Syariah law as applied in Malaysia. In the private wealth sector, Farah structures various types of members and charitable trusts and foundations on the Malaysian shore and also Labuan. Over her 30 years of legal practice, Farah has also given advice on other matters like corporate and commercial works, intellectual property, banking (conventional and Islamic), real estate & infrastructure locally in Malaysia and abroad, personal data protection, competition and privacy laws. Farah is a registered mediator with the Bar Council Malaysian Mediation Centre. She is also the current Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner Malaysia branch.
Nor Fazlina Mohd Ghouse Chief Operating Officer, Maybank Trustees
Fazlina is the current Chief Operating Officer of Maybank Trustees Berhad whose main role is drive the trustee’s business and spearhead its transformation initiatives. She now heads the overall operations of Maybank Trustees covering private and corporate trusts. She was Maybank Trustee’s acting CEO in charge of operations and overall Maybank Trustee’s business activities. During that short 7-month period as Officer In Charge, Fazlina has been instrumental in leading the team to achieve significant uptrends in overall growth, in comparison to FY2020. Fazlina has a vast array of experience in the private banking, trust and fiduciary industry. She started her career as a trust officer with Maybank Trustees Berhad back in 2004 dealing with private debt securities. She then moved on to another local bank to attend to trust and estate administration matters. As Associate Director of CIMB Commerce Trustee Berhad, Fazlina was entrusted to develop private trusts and estate planning business.
