Faizal Bhana › Director – Middle East, Africa and India, Jersey Finance

Faizal is a UK qualified lawyer and for many years has worked and advised, and is a trusted advisor to institutions, corporates and families across the Middle East, Africa and India. Faizal specialises in banking and finance and has advised corporates, family offices and families including on their international investment and holding structures.

Faizal is responsible for developing the strategy for Jersey Finance’s engagement in Africa, the Middle East and India. He is focussed on his key markets, regularly travelling to all these countries, liaising and working with key stakeholders, including public and private institutions, corporates and families, building long-term mutually beneficial relationships.

Mona Doshi

Mona Doshi Partner, ALN Kenya

Mona Doshi is a Partner at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna and co-heads the firm’s Private Client department. She looks after the affairs of high-net-worth clients. Her practice includes advising on succession planning, drafting wills, handling probate matters, advising on onshore and offshore trusts, drafting shareholders’ agreements for family businesses, advising on prenuptial agreements, drafting settlement agreements, and advising on real estate. Mona handles both local and multi-jurisdictional matters for private clients. She also acts for several charitable institutions and has assisted in setting up charitable trusts and foundations. She is ranked by Chambers Global HNW guides that ranks lawyers with experience in handling private wealth matters. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She holds an LLB from University of Reading and has completed the LPC at College of Law, Guildford, England.

Abbas Alihussein Esmail

Abbas Alihussein Esmail Partner, ALN Kenya

Abbas is a Partner at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna and a member of the Dispute Resolution team. He specialises in criminal and commercial litigation as well as regulatory enforcement disputes, with a focus on anti-corruption and economic crime, white collar crime, cyber-crime, and competition law.
He has significant experience handling a wide range of high-profile litigation which include tax disputes, insolvency proceedings and administration of solvent companies, disputes concerning land and environment, fraud, corruption, shareholder disputes and constitutional and civil rights litigation.
Abbas is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi.

Kajal Patel

Kajal Patel Senior Associate, ALN Kenya

Kajal is a Senior Associate with ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna (ALN Kenya), in the Private Client department. Her practice focuses mainly on family succession and estate planning, next generational transfer of wealth and corporate governance matters for High-Net-Worth clients. She also has a background in the real estate industry on a full range of transactions including high value real estate disposals and acquisitions, real estate litigation, compliance and regulatory issues, due diligence, project land and tax structuring for both local and international clients.
Kajal is also a Senior Trust Officer at Adili Fiduciary Services Ltd (AFS), an independent and agile corporate professional trustee providing trustee and fiduciary services to high-net-worth families in Kenya. She has extensive experience in managing complex trust accounts and fiduciary responsibilities.

Carey Ngini

Carey Ngini Chairman & CEO, Bentworth Investments Limited

Carey Ngini is a Kenyan entrepreneur who, after pursuit of his education in both Kenya and the UK, returned and joined the family business. The family have been involved in various sectors of the Kenyan economy including Real Estate Development, Insurance, Banking, Private Schools and Industry. Carey, after devoting many years to the larger family, embarked on an entrepreneurial journey of his own, setting up the first fully integrated Corporate Archiving business in 2006. He negotiated an investment from the UK multinational security company, G4S International, who joined him in the archive business, which was renamed from its founding name, Archive Solutions to become G4S Secure Data Solutions Limited in 2009. The business and Partners sold the company to South African conglomerate and largest archive business in Africa, Metrofile Limited, in 2019.

Soila Mungai

Soila Mungai CEO, MHL

Soila serves as the CEO of MHL, a 50-year-old family-owned investment company. MHL is invested in agribusiness, real estate, manufacturing to name a few and she is responsible for the investments of the company both publicly and privately held. In her capacity as CEO, she has developed solid organizational, compliance and governance structures within MHL and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining MHL, she worked as a consultant both in the US and here in Kenya providing strategic and business process advisory services. Through her work she is committed to seeing livelihoods improved through business. Aside from all this; Soila enjoys teaching Sunday school and is a budding triathlete.

Steven Rowland

Steven Rowland Head of Business Development, Vistra

Steven is Head of New Business for private clients in Vistra Jersey and MENA region. He is responsible for all aspects of new business and takes an active role in the on-boarding of new clients, often assisting them in obtaining the correct advice to ensure that the structures put in place are appropriate for their specific circumstances.
He has over 27 years’ experience in all aspects of the offshore financial services industry, dealing with international corporate, institutional investors and UHNW families.
Steven joined Abacus Financial Services Limited in 1996 following his graduation from Kingston University with an Honours Degree in Economics. He then went on to become a director of Guardian Trust Company, Garfield Bennett Trust Company and was part of the management team at the Jersey Financial Services Commission during the period when the regulation of trust company business was being implemented.

Sevyn Kalsi

Sevyn Kalsi Partner, Bedell Cristin

Sevyn, an English Solicitor and Jersey Advocate, is Partner in Bedell Cristin's International Private Client team, based in Jersey.
He is a private wealth specialist experienced in advising on private wealth, corporate, investment and philanthropic structures (via trusts, foundations, private trust companies and family offices). He has considerable expertise in advising on complex cross-jurisdictional trust and corporate restructuring matters, and is regularly instructed by individuals and their family offices to coordinate their offshore interests.
Sevyn has significant experience in family governance matters, succession planning in the context of family businesses and the structuring and establishment of both single and multi-family offices. He is also one of the leading experts on the use of Jersey foundations and the establishment of charitable and philanthropic structures in Jersey.

Winnie Koech

Winnie Koech Manager/Wealth and Investment, Stanbic Bank

Winnie Koech is a private wealth professional, currently in charge of the Wealth and Investment Division at Stanbic Bank Kenya, a member of the Standard Bank Group. She is responsible for leading client’s investment and relationship strategy, driving superior client experience as well as banking. Over the years, Winnie has acquired sound experience in managing wealthy families and individuals. Her expertise is in Relationship management, financial planning, wealth creation and preservation. Winnie is also responsible for connecting local clients to Standard Bank’s International Offshore expertise. She is passionate about generational wealth and contributed to a thought leadership article in the Business Daily on the 15th of November 2021 themed – How Covid-19 has changed estate, succession planning. She is a graduate of Economics from the University of Nairobi and is a holder of Chartered Institute of Investment and Securities (CISI 1) with over 15 years’ experience in Banking.
