We know that career paths are not always straight-forward, life can throw curveballs at us, and we can be pulled in different directions. But if you’re ready for a change and would be interested in hearing about roles in Jersey’s finance industry, we’d love you to join us on Tuesday 31 October from 10.00 am at St. Paul’s Centre for a coffee, cake, and chat to find out more.

Not knowing where to start is often the first hurdle to overcome. Join us and speak to real people working in the finance industry who have been in your shoes, from parents who have taken time out of employment to look after their children, to someone working flexibly to provide elderly care, and people who have switched careers into finance.

The finance industry gives you flexible job options that can work with your lifestyle. We’re confident that there are opportunities for everyone. Don’t worry if you think you don’t have the right skills – we’re good at spotting potential.

The event will start at 10:00 am, with a short welcome speech from Karolina Pilcher, a senior manager at Jersey Finance, who herself is a busy working parent.
We will then be joined by Will Carnegie who will host a panel session with Members currently working in the finance industry to hear about their personal journeys. After this, there will be time for questions. We will also provide breakout areas for 1-2-1 conversations.

If you’re not able to join us for the start of the event, don’t worry and please feel free to drop in at anytime in the morning. However, the presentation part of the event will run from 10.00 am until 10.45 am.

What format will Reconnect take?

We want this event to be really informal and be all about you. We want to answer any questions you might have about either re-joining the world of finance or starting a career in the industry. There will be a welcome speech, we will then hear from local finance firm representatives, and then there will be time for questions and conversations.

Is there a cost to attend Reconnect?

No, Reconnect is free of charge.

Do I have to be a Jersey Finance Member to attend?

No, this is a public event for anyone interested in working in the finance industry.

Do we have to stay for the entire session?

No, the event will be held from 10.00 am – 12.00 pm, and the idea is that people will be able to drop in at anytime in the morning. However, the presentation part of the event will run from 10.00 am until 10.45 am.

Is there parking?
There is no reserved parking. The closest public car parks are in Sand Street and Minden Place.

Is there a dress code?

There is no strict dress code for the event.

Will there be opportunities to talk to potential employers?

The event isn’t an employment fair or interview, so there won’t be any active employers looking to recruit. However, in our follow up email, we will be providing you with information and resources to help you with your next steps, and we will share any opportunities with you.
