In anticipation of a general GDPR fatigue amongst financial services businesses (and TCBs in particular) in Jersey, Simon Franckel, Advocate, Oben Law, will look at the issue of GDPR from a different context.

He will examine how the new EU regulations and the anticipated new Data Protection (Jersey) Law might have influenced different outcomes for recent high profile cases, to include Morrisons and Uber. With this in mind Simon will comment on how you can prepare yourself for the legal implications of the regime, most notably in respect of identifying breaches, receiving subject access requests and the interaction between you, your clients and service providers.
