Friday 6 March 2015

Guernsey, 6 March 2015 – Ipes has been given the Keep Guernsey Green Award for the second time.

The Award run by the States of Guernsey’s Environment Department publicly acknowledges the contribution an organisation makes to helping Guernsey maintain a healthy, clean environment by following best practice in waste management, recycling and energy conservation.

Andrew Whittaker Managing Director for Ipes Guernsey says, “we are delighted to have been given this award. Ipes was founded in Guernsey 17 years ago and now employs 110 people on the island. We are strongly committed to do all we can to reduce our impact on the environment. It’s a scheme that everyone at Ipes has been involved in and has been beneficial in helping us review and improve our green processes.”

Ipes was reviewed by an independent Assessor who supported the company through the Award which takes several months to complete. The process is broken down into three stages: Policy and Planning, Action, and Review and Improvement.

Any company in Guernsey is eligible to apply for the award and it is held for a period of three years. Ipes was first given the Award in 2011.
