Durrell and sponsors RBC Wealth Management challenged businesses to consider the case for corporate responsibility at a breakfast seminar held at the Pomme d'Or Hotel.

Around 100 members of the business community heard from this year's keynote speaker – Abigail Cottrell from the UK business charity Business in the Community – about the positive economic and social impact of embracing sustainable business practices. She encouraged business leaders to leave the breakfast table thinking not so much about how companies spend their profits but how they make their profits in the first place.

Closely aligned with the event's themes, sponsors RBC Wealth Management revealed that their corporate responsibility programmes are already having a positive impact on employee engagement and that their five-year resource reduction plan has delivered cost savings through reducing water consumption by 17% (the equivalent of £6,000 off the water bill) and paper consumption by 30% (or 30kg per employee per year).
