Advocate Kirsten Faichnie has joined Walkers’ growing Investment Funds & Corporate Practice Group as a Senior Counsel.

Advocate Faichnie, who has been in private practice since 2010, has experience of working in London and Jersey, and advises clients across the full life-cycle of investment funds matters, corporate and M&A advice, and real estate structuring and financing.

She also has experience of complex restructuring matters and end-of-life solutions for investment funds.

Advocate Faichnie worked in the investment funds team of another major offshore law firm in London and Jersey from 2006 to 2018, and spent the last two years working for a boutique practice focused on corporate law.

Advocate Jonathan Heaney, the managing partner of Walkers’ Jersey office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kirsten to our busy and growing practice – her wide experience across our core practice areas in funds and corporate law make her a perfect fit for the team.

“She is the second senior arrival in the team in the team in the last six months, following Sarah Townsend’s recruitment, and we look forward to continuing to grow in terms of headcount and market share.”

So far this year, Walkers’ Jersey office has seen the arrival of nine new lawyers – partner Richard Holden, senior counsel Kirsten Faichnie, Christine Fox and Sarah Townsend, senior associate Melissa Hellio and Alex Schluep and associates Devan Gounden, Cathryn Houston and Mark Klag.

Fraser Hern, the head of Walkers’ Channel Islands business said: “Our targeted growth strategy has seen recruitment and expansion across each of the practice areas in our Channel Islands team, as we continue to go from strength to strength.

“Kirsten’s arrival is a very welcome addition in a team that has had a busy 2022 so far, and which is likely to get busier as uncertain market conditions create more demand for restructuring expertise in particular.”
