Alternative Transport Week – 16 to 20 May
As part of our vision for sustainable finance on a sustainable Island, Jersey Finance is proud to be supporting Jersey’s first Alternative Transport Week, which runs from 16 to 20 May.

This initiative is aimed at encouraging all Islanders to either bus, cycles or walk to work for week. Businesses are being invited to support their staff in taking up this challenge, through a range of initiatives to promote active travel and public transport for the daily commute.
Transport is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Jersey. Carbon emissions from road transport amount to 118 kt CO2eq, representing a majority (63%) of the 187 kt CO2eq of carbon emissions from all transport activities in Jersey. As part of the fight against climate change, Islanders are increasingly looking for ways to change their travel habits and this event provides a perfect opportunity to try something different.
During Alternative Transport Week, Let’s Ride will be running a number of organised rides, designed to help cyclists build up their confidence and explore potential commuting routes. You can sign up for these routes using the links below:
- St Saviour to Town
- St Clement to Town
- Trinity to Town
- Carrefour Selous to Town
- St Brelade to Town
- St Mary to Town
- St Peter to Town
- Gorey to Town
- St Ouen to Town
Return rides from Town will also run on these routes in the evening. Further events will be announced on the ATW Facebook page.
