Appleby advised the Trustee in connection with the sale of the entire issued units of Tritax Brindleyplace (7,8 & 10) Unit Trust (Unit Trust) to a German institutional investor. The Unit Trust was a listed Jersey Property Unit Trust (JPUT) managed by Tritax Management LLP. Its assets comprised three Grade A office buildings located in Birmingham's Central Business District and comprise 293,000 sq ft of commercial space, let in the majority as offices to RBS with Sainsbury's holding the retail element plus 39,000 sq ft of residential accommodation. The Appleby team was led by corporate partner Andrew Weaver and assisted by senior associate Danny Cole. The Appleby team worked closely with Ashurst whose corporate and real estate teams acted for Tritax in the disposal. The Unit Trust was a long standing client of Appleby, with the firm having advised on the establishment of Tritax Brindleyplace (7,8 & 10) Unit Trust in 2009 and Appleby Securities (Channel Islands) Ltd having acted as listing sponsor to the Unit Trust on the Channel Islands Securities Exchange Authority Ltd.
