Leading offshore law firm Appleby has announced three senior promotions in its Jersey office.
Jared Dann has been promoted to Partner within the Dispute Resolution practice group, Jonathan Anderson has been promoted to Counsel within the Property practice group and Chris Smedley has been promoted to Senior Associate within the Corporate practice group.
Jared is a commercial litigator who advises on a range of commercial disputes. He specialises particularly in trust disputes and in matters involving fraud and asset tracing. He was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2007 (currently non-practising) and practised thereafter at the commercial and chancery Bar in London, before joining Appleby in October 2011. Jared has been recognised by the Legal 500 for being “quick-thinking and confident”.
Jonathan is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales (currently non-practising) and advises on all commercial property matters, including development, financing, investment and leasing. Jonathan has been involved in many high profile commercial property transactions in the Channel Islands in recent years and prior to joining Appleby in 2017 practised in Guernsey and the United Arab Emirates. Jonathan has been recognised by the Legal 500 as being “professional and concise”.
Chris advises both local and international clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, real estate investment structuring, private equity structures and corporate finance. Chris also takes a leading role within Appleby’s capital markets/listing services division, regularly advising clients in relation to the listing of Eurobonds, high yield bonds, REITS and other specialist debt and equity on The International Stock Exchange (TISE). Recently clients told Legal 500 that Chris is “extremely competent”.
