Ashburton Investments has won three accolades at South Africa’s Raging Bull Awards, the country’s prestigious collective investment scheme performance celebration, including two for one of its Jersey-domiciled funds.
Ashburton picked up two top performance awards for its Jersey-domiciled Chindia Equity Fund, winning the ‘Best Offshore Far East Equity General Fund’ and the ‘Best Offshore Far East Equity General Fund on a Risk-adjusted Basis’ in the FSB-approved (Financial Services Board) Offshore Funds category.
Now in their twentieth year, the Raging Bull Awards recognise the stars of the collective investment industry in terms of top performers, best risk-adjusted performers and the best unit trust management companies in various categories.
Atlantic Asset Management, now within the Ashburton stable, also took the Best South African Interest-bearing ‘Short-term Fund’ award in the Domestic Funds category for its Stable Income Fund.
Commenting on the Raging Bull successes, Peter Bourne, Managing Director of Ashburton Investments’ international business based in Jersey, said: “We are very excited by this news. Winning two awards for our Jersey-domiciled Chindia Equity Fund is a huge accolade for Ashburton’s investment team and all those in our business who contribute to the management of this Fund. To be acknowledged alongside the very best performing funds within a volatile period of market activity is something we are proud of.”
Jersey-based Craig Farley, Manager of the Chindia Equity Fund, was delighted to hear news of the awards, saying: “We are very proud to receive both awards for the Chindia Equity Fund, reflecting the strength of our investment process and all the hard work put in by our team.”
Boshoff Grobler, CEO of Ashburton Investments, said “We are very proud of our investment team for delivering on our promise to bring investors access to more. Since the launch of our new generation asset manager we have added more capability to our traditional and non-traditional offering.”
