KPMG in the Channel Islands are teaming up with the Jersey Amateur Swimming Association (JASA) to have fun in the sun to raise money for a group of disabled Jersey swimmers who will be competing in Guernsey in September.
KPMG in the Channel Islands is the main sponsor of JASA and hopes that the beach event on Saturday 11th July at Havre des Pas bathing pool will also give KPMG staff and their families the opportunity to meet and socialise with members of JASA.
‘As proud sponsor of JASA, we are pleased to have been able to collaborate with JASA to organise a social event for our staff, their friends and families and members of JASA, which will raise funds for a very worthy cause,’ said KPMG in the Channel Islands Chairman Larry Catterson.
The family fun afternoon event will comprise a selection of pool games organised by JASA, including an egg and spoon race, rafts, huge inflatables and water polo, followed by a BBQ. Admission for children is free but all adult tickets will include a donation for the team of disabled swimmers who will compete in Guernsey. Swim Easy has over 26 years of teaching in the Island for all ages and abilities. The group believes that fear, finance, age, skill level or disability is no barrier for individuals in reaching their potential.
This will be the second time KPMG and JASA have organised a social event. KPMG staff took part in a joint event at the Aqua Splash with JASA’s Water Polo club, which turned out to be both a hugely successful and entertaining evening.
‘We are delighted to be in partnership with KPMG to arrange this fundraising afternoon for Swim Easy. Sponsorship from KPMG allows members of JASA to achieve success in their respective disciplines, as recently seen in the Island Games held in Aland. The Jersey Swim Team returned with a magnificent tally of 30 medals, including 9 gold, 16 silver and 5 bronze medals, together with new Island Games records,’ said Gail Le Clercq, Hon President of JASA.
