In the latest development in a 40-year career, IFM Group Director Brian Morris sets out his vision for IFM Group following his appointment as IFM’s Executive Chairman.    Brian is one of IFM’s founding directors, succeeding retired Chairman, Eric Axford.  

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants, Brian works with high net worth individuals and families globally to manage and protect their assets, and grow inheritances for future generations.   Brian is also experienced in corporate finance and taxation services, trust and corporate management, administration services and forensic accounting

“My vision for IFM,” explains Brian “is to build on the extremely solid base which currently exists.  We have a financially sound business with remarkable talent among our 9 directors and 73 staff, and a global client portfolio with >£880m in assets under management.  Our focus is to be forward-looking, anticipate and respond to economic and financial change, and provide an outstanding service to our clients.”

Acknowledging the human talent within the firm, Brian adds: “Our people are at the heart of our business. Demonstrating his ability to innovate, Brian pioneered the concept of United Ventures Limited (UVL) some 12 years ago. UVL provides a hub for medium-sized owner-managed businesses to connect with trading partners internationally and draw on specialist legal, finance, logistics and accountancy support.   

Brian trained with Thornton Baker (now Grant Thornton) before joining Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).    Adding business experience to his financial expertise, Brian spent 2 years in the commercial world with Sainsbury’s and BHS, equipping him with insight into the global retail world and corporate reporting at the highest level.
