31 dads and children from the Brighter Futures Fathers, Fun and Food Club, have enjoyed a day at Durrell, thanks to supporter, Hawksford.

The 11 dads and 20 youngsters were treated to a day at the wildlife conservation park on Sunday 12th August, which included an exclusive tour of the animal enclosures, a picnic lunch and free time spent playing on the park’s bouncy castle and carousel.

‘The work of Brighter Futures is largely unseen by the general public – it is an unsung hero for the families it supports, thanks to its dedicated team, and Hawksford is thrilled to be a supporter of this charitable group. It was a great day and the team at Durrell made special arrangements to help make this such a super outing,’ said Charlotte Brambilla, director, Hawksford.

Brighter Futures works with 150 to 170 families each week, its motto is ‘Think Family.’ Brighter Futures works as a team, in partnership with the dads, to ensure that the dads’ club provides fathers with a choice of activities and resources to engage with their children, in a safe, relaxed environment. It takes place on the second Sunday of every month and is open to dads and male carers with children up to the age of eight years. Staff are on hand to offer support or advice if requested and to provide free bacon sandwiches, snacks and refreshments!
