The children and their fathers spent yesterday at the hotel, where they had lunch and watched the movie, Madagascar 3.   Some of the children then got creative with glue, glitter and felt tip pens, making Father’s Day cards for their dads.   ‘It was so lovely to see the children and their fathers having such a great time together. It really was quality time that meant so much to these families,’ said Emma McCullagh from Brighter Futures. ‘We are so grateful to Hawksford and Grand Jersey for their continued support.’ Brighter Futures is a Jersey charity based at The Bridge, which works in partnership with Parenting Support Services to meet the needs of families and young people. The charity aims to provide children, young people and families an opportunity to be safe, healthy and happy, support families to engage in life-changing opportunities especially in challenging times, and fundraise in order to be able to continue to provide support for those accessing Brighter Futures. The charity has two clubs – the Inbetweenies for children aged from four to eight years old which is run after school on a weekly basis, and the Fathers’ Club which provides help and support to dads, providing activities for them to do with their children. ‘Hawksford is very pleased to be involved with Brighter Futures, which turns families’ lives around and provides much-needed support. Seeing the children spend quality time with their fathers and have so much fun in a relaxed environment was very rewarding,’ said Hawksford’s head of marketing, Matthew Morel. Eamonn Elliott, general manager of Grand Jersey, said the partnership with Hawksford was proving a great success. ‘Earlier this year our executive head chef, Richard Allen, gave families from the Inbetweenies club a cookery demonstration, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The success of yesterday’s event could be measured on the faces of the children, who had an absolute blast,’ said Mr Elliott. ‘I look forward to Grand Jersey and Hawksford being involved in more exciting initiatives for the families involved with Brighter Futures. The charity does some wonderful work and provides invaluable support to these families.’
