Engaging with students is a key element of our careers and skills work here at Jersey Finance. We believe in fostering connections and nurturing young talent to help shape the next generation of our financial services workforce.

Our Life in Finance scheme does just that, bringing together local firms with sixth form students, to facilitate work experience during the school holidays.

We’ve been running this scheme for over 10 years, and we’re proud to see it grow in success year after year, with more students signing up and experiencing tasters of life in finance.

Last week, we held our ‘Meet and Greet’ event, a critical part of the scheme. This event is a chance for the students to meet with the participating firms, and to discuss what working at each firm would entail, their business cultures and future opportunities.

We had over 40 students attend this year’s Meet and Greet, and it was great to see them all interacting with the representatives of the firms and making the most of the event.

Schemes like this are crucial to help educate the islands’ young adults about the vast opportunities available to them on the island. It’s a chance for firms to pass on their knowledge, expertise and insights to students and help them be prepared for working life.

We take pride in our ongoing commitment to careers and skills in the finance industry.
