BWCI – the Channel Islands’ largest group of actuaries and consultants – has been named Actuarial Firm of the Year at the UK Captive Services Awards.

The firm took the award for the second successive year at the ceremony in London last week. The UK Captive Services Awards are part of Captive Live UK conference in London.

Ian Morris, BWCI Partner, said: "This latest success reinforces our position as the market leader in providing actuarial advice to captive insurance companies. We picked up the award at last year’s inaugural captive awards and we are delighted that our continuing commitment to providing a first class service to our captive clients and the hard work of our team has again been recognised."

The independent judging panel assessed the entrants both quantitatively and qualitatively, using four criteria:

  • growth (client numbers, premium/assets under management, internal hires, geographic expansion
  • client satisfaction
  • genuine product innovation
  • adaptability in the face of client demands, new regulation etc.

BWCI beat four other shortlisted firms to take the award.

The company is based in the Channel Islands and offers insurance, investment and employee benefit services, specialising in actuarial services for captives.

The firm remains committed to expanding and developing the range of services and is a member of the international network Abelica Global, an international network of independent actuarial consulting firms.
