Channel Islands law firm Carey Olsen has advised Bellzone Mining plc on its listing on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange.
Bellzone is a Jersey registered holding company for a group of companies with large scale iron ore deposits and exploration assets in Guinea. The Company, which was founded in November 2007, aims to become a significant iron ore producer in Western Africa.
Proceeds raised from the placing accompanying the listing are to be used further to develop its assets and complete the long lead stages of a bankable feasibility study at its Kalia Iron Project in Guinea.
Carey Olsen partner Nicholas Crocker led the team advising Bellzone in Jersey.
"Carey Olsen has been with Bellzone from the outset, and we were profoundly pleased to see the Company, after all it had done in the previous three years, definitively mark its place in the world by achieving this listing and the accompanying fundraising,” he said.
Carey Olsen is one of the top six legal advisers for FTSE AIM 100 listed companies and eighth in total AIM clients, according to Hemscott's July 2010 AIM report. Hemscott, a leading directory for the finance sector, compiles its rankings based on the number of clients in the preceding quarter.
