Carey Olsen has advised the owners of Capco Trust, an independent Jersey-based private client and corporate services business, on its sale to global financial services provider Ocorian.

David Capps, Group Chairman of Capco Trust, said: "Our ambition for this transaction was to find a good home for our staff in the form of a partner that would sustain and strengthen the development of our private client and niche corporate services businesses to the benefit of our clients – who will now be able to access a greater array of specialist financial services across a wider range of international jurisdictions."

The Carey Olsen team advising Capco Trust on all aspects of the transaction was led by partners Siobhan Riley and James Willmott, who were assisted by associate Natasha Lyons.

Mr Willmott said: "This has been a particularly interesting transaction to be involved with and we are delighted to have been able to assist Capco Trust. It also reinforces Carey Olsen's strong reputation in advising on mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the Channel Islands and the domestic fiduciary market."

Wyvern Partners were corporate finance advisers to Capco Trust in the transaction, while Deloitte and Bedell Cristin acted as advisers to Ocorian.
