The second annual charity event pitted local businesses against one another in a multi-sensory quiz experience that raised money for the firm’s two chosen local charities – RNLI and The Stroke Association Jersey.

36 tables of six competed at the interactive event held last Thursday (19 November) at the Merton Hotel. Quiz master Nick Carver and BBC Jersey presenter Charlie McArdle put the teams through their paces in a series of interactive rounds that featured film clips and voice recognition, history and geography, music, as well as, taste, memory and speed challenges.

A team from Ogier, Les Quizerables, took the trophy after a head to head tie break against last year’s winners BNP Paribas, also called Les Quizerables. Both achieved 76 points. Another team from BNP Paribas, DE JA VU, came in joint third with Rathbone Investment Management.

The quiz is an annual event that takes place in both Jersey and Guernsey as part of Carey Olsen's on-going charitable activity. 20 Carey Olsen staff looked after the teams to ensure the evening ran smoothly.

Chairman of Carey Olsen’s charities committee, Sue Cooper, said: "The Carey Olsen Charity Quiz, which is open to all businesses in Jersey, has become a much anticipated annual event with each company seeking to be proclaimed "cleverest in Jersey".

Carey Olsen partner, Siobhan Riley, said: "Once again the Carey Olsen Charities Committee has raised in excess of £7,000 from its charity quiz night to benefit our current charities, The Stroke Association Jersey and RNLI. We are grateful to the many local businesses who entered teams and who gave generously for the raffle."
