Channel Island law firm Carey Olsen is the leading corporate adviser in the offshore legal sector, according to Hemscott’s Corporate Advisers Ranking Guide for May 2011. Carey Olsen continues to lead the offshore law firm table by 11 clients with a total of 64 clients, including 38 AIM, 2 FTSE 100 and 4 FTSE 250 clients.

Carey Olsen is the only offshore law firm placed alongside major UK law firms in the top ten legal advisers to London Stock Market clients and in the top five legal advisors to AIM clients. Carey Olsen demonstrates particular strength in advising AIM listed companies; the firm ranks second for client market capitalisation and has moved up to fourth from fifth place for the number of clients it advises.

According to Hemscott’s AIM Advisers Ranking Guide for April 2011, the firm tops the list of legal advisers based on the number of financial clients advised by the corporate team. The firm also performs strongly in other sectors; in the ‘Industrials clients’ sector it is ranked first for client market capitalisation and fifth according to the number of clients, while in the ‘Basic materials’ sector the firm ranks sixth overall and for oil and gas clients, the firm is sixth for client market capitalisation.
