Carey Olsen advises more stock market clients than any other offshore law firm and remains the only Channel Island firm that is ranked in the top ten for the total number of clients listed on the Main Market and Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange, according to the latest rankings produced by market analysis firm Hemscott for the quarter ended 4 November 2010.
Carey Olsen has “bounced back in style” on AIM, according to Hemscott, where it ranked fifth on the number of AIM clients – its best score since records started five years ago. Carey Olsen advises 38 AIM clients. The Channel Islands law firm is positioned in second place when rankings are based on aggregate stock market capitalisations of AIM-listed clients.
Carey Olsen is the only offshore law firm to rank in the top ten for the total number of stock market clients – taking 9th position after adding five new clients since the last quarter (July, 2010). The Channel Islands law firm boasts 65 clients and is placed alongside Magic Circle law firms including Slaughter and May, Linklaters and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Carey Olsen’s position makes it the top ranking offshore law firm by a significant nine clients.
Carey Olsen chairman John Kelleher said: “These facts demonstrate the calibre of our clients and shows we are the number one law firm in the Channel Islands for corporate legal advice.
“The latest Hemscott report recognises the Channel Islands as a leading jurisdiction in the establishment of AIM and Main Market investment companies and our position in the rankings has Carey Olsen standing shoulder to shoulder with leading London firms.”
