Jason Laity, Managing Director of KPMG Channel Island Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of two Executive Directors of the firm, Steve Hunt and Robert Kirkby.  “KPMG has seen its business growing strongly in recent years, and with the successful development of its Jersey consultancy business led by Rob, and Steve driving forward new Jersey audit mandates, we are going from strength to strength," notes Jason.  "Both have been in professional services for almost 20 years, and contribute a wealth of experience to the firm."

Steve is a great example of genuine home-grown talent. Educated at Victoria College, Caen University and the University of East Anglia, he completed his training with KPMG in Jersey, then moved to the Cayman Islands, and was more recently responsible for establishing KPMG's British Virgin Islands office.  This off-island experience has given Steve a fantastic understanding of the challenges faced by businesses, governments and regulators.  Steve can often be found with his three children exploring the island on foot, by kayak, or by scooter, leaving his wife Maggie to a bit of peace and quiet.

Rob, a regular commentator on finance and fiscal matters in Jersey, is father of two boys and married to Flo.  Educated first in Yorkshire, then Cambridge University, he was trained by KPMG in London.  He then spent a number of years in London and Auckland, New Zealand before arriving on Jersey’s shores more than 11 years ago.  International experience such as this has given him a great network within the firm literally from one side of the world to the other.  Rob has always been active, but with the boys growing up rapidly he has recently had to take up surfing lessons in order to keep up as he is determined not to be left behind.

“Rob and Steve are great examples of how KPMG continues to provide varied and interesting career paths.  We are constantly looking for quality, motivated talent and we can offer a truly diverse career”.
