Chief Minister, Terry Le Sueur, will officially open the new Barclays Wealth Premier Suite in Broad Street later this week.
The new suite represents a significant investment into the local market by the UK’s leading wealth manager and has been designed to ensure that Barclays Wealth’s most discerning customers have the privacy, effective and efficient service which they require.
‘I am delighted that our Chief Minister, Terry Le Sueur is officially opening the new Premier Suite. The suite represents a significant investment for us in the local market and is reflective of our commitment to Jersey and the Channel Islands,’ said Paul Savery, Managing Director, Barclays Wealth Intermediaries and International Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man.
Carol Bisson, Head of Local Markets, Barclays Wealth said the new suite was an important part of the company’s future.
‘Barclays Wealth, like many of our clients, has stood resolute throughout the recent challenging economic times and thanks to robust planning and strong leadership, has remained true to our values while holding our position as one of the strongest players both globally and in the Channel Islands finance industry. In the first quarter of 2010 Barclays Wealth recorded a global profit of £45 million, with client assets increasing to £155 billion.
‘We understand that tectonic plates have shifted across the industry, and sources of wealth, demographics and client expectations have radically altered. That’s why we have committed to over £350 million of investment spend globally over the next three years, to invest in our people, our investment approach, our compensation philosophy, and our technology and systems, to deliver an outstanding client experience. The launch of this new Premier Suite is one of these investments.
‘Locally we are seeing a strong trend in clients at all levels of the income spectrum beginning to focus on investments and savings, a really positive sign in terms of our economic recovery. Our wealth advisors specialise in future planning with our clients, preparing them for the big investments they are likely to make in the coming years such as weddings, purchase of houses and university fees. Our investment in the new Premier Suite is part of our very own future planning strategy.’
