A team of Collas Crill employees have taken part in a skydive to raise funds for local charity, Grace Trust.

Nikki Reed, the firm’s Group Credit Control manager, initiated the idea after hearing a speech by Grace Trust manager Gerry Padden, where he talked about the invaluable support the charity provides to the island’s most vulnerable.

Along with four of her colleagues; Chloe, Fleur, Nick and Louise, Nikki jumped from a plane at 10,000ft above the Jersey shoreline on Saturday 14 September.

The team raised £3600 for the charity, beating their set target of £3000, which was given a generous boost of £1225.00 by Collas Crill partners.

Nikki said: ‘After hearing about the support Grace Trust provides to those who need it the most in Jersey, I couldn’t not do something to help.

‘I decided I wanted to challenge myself in the process, and being scared of heights, a skydive seemed like the best option.

‘I knew my friends and colleagues at Collas Crill would support me with the fundraising, I wasn’t sure I would manage to get four of them jumping from the plane with me too!’

Since it was established in 1999, Grace Trust has embraced Christian principles to provide both practical and personal help to some of the island’s most vulnerable and needy. It offers weekly lunches, provides groceries to families struggling financially and emotional support to those in difficult situations.

Grace Trust General Manager Vini Jones said: ‘Gerry and I were so thrilled to hear that the team were willing to challenge themselves like this in order to support those struggling and vulnerable within our own immediate community.

‘What a brilliant way of supporting the Grace Trust, thank you so much.’
