In light of recent terror attacks, it remains vitally important that financial services employees, of all levels, understand the practical realities surrounding countering the financing of terrorism.

Jersey International Business School (JIBS) are bringing over former Specialist Operations Detective Ross Savage, a CFT specialist, who will be delivering a 1.5-hour workshop on ‘Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT); Practical Realities for the Financial Services Sector’ on Tuesday 23 May 2017 held at JIBS.

This workshop will enable delegates to understand how they may, unknowingly, facilitate the financing of terrorism and how they can mitigate that risk.

The course will cover: an overview of global terrorism, UK based Islamic extremism, international CFT initiatives, terrorist finance, and a practical risks & indicators exercise based on real world counter-terrorism operational experiences and horizon scanning.

Ross Savage is a former Specialist Operations Detective, Financial Investigator and Trainer for the Metropolitan Police Service. In 2009, Ross moved to New Scotland Yard and worked as part of a highly specialised team, providing financial intelligence and investigatory support to UK and international counter terrorism operations.

With Ross’ experience and expert knowledge on CFT, he offers a valuable perspective on this subject area.

This workshop has limited availability and costs £75 per delegate, with discounts available for various professional membership bodies and is worth 1.5 hours CPD. Find out more and book at
