Last week, a group of volunteers from Deloitte’s Jersey office spent the day helping at the Mind Jersey charity shop. This was the second Impact Day organised by Sarah Sandiford, Associate Director at Deloitte, and is part of the firm's ongoing three-year commitment to the mental health charity and is part of the firm’s One Million Futures initiative.

The group got stuck into sorting the shop’s autumn clothing stock and getting it ready to display and sell in the store; they were kept busy steaming, labelling and hanging donated clothes. The Jersey Mind Nearly New shop, located in St Helier, provides an invaluable source of income to the charity. Run by a dedicated team of volunteer staff, the shop has provided a great stepping stone for many people on their road to recovery.

Speaking of the day, Sarah Sandiford says; ‘Our last impact day clearing the garden was a great success, so it is lovely to be able to help our charity partner Mind Jersey again; we still have a few more activities planned in the future. Launched in 2016, Deloitte in the UK is working with over 50 of the most inspiring social enterprises, charities and schools providing them with a package of support comprising pro bono, volunteering and fundraising.

If anyone would like to get involved and volunteer at the shop, you can do so by popping in to speak to them or give them a call on +44(0)1534 759976.
