The ‘Together We Shine Fundraising Week’, organized by Jersey Finance and sponsored by Rathbones (20 – 25 September) saw finance firms participate in a broad range of fundraising initiatives to raise funds for local charities via the Association of Jersey Charities (AJC), who Jersey Finance is partnering with this year and are themselves celebrating their 50th anniversary.
30 finance industry professionals were ‘sent over the edge’ in a charity abseil down Mont Orgueil and several teams took part in the ‘60km in 6 days’ sponsored walking challenge across the Island.
In total, £23,890 was raised as part of Fundraising Week.
Commenting on the week, Amy Bryant, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Jersey Finance, said:
“I am so pleased to have seen such a fantastic effort made by the industry to fundraise for the AJC. It truly showcases the care and commitment our Island has towards local the community – not just during fundraising week but all year round. It was great to see that so many people from our finance industry got involved and all for admirable and worthy causes. For me, what the events of the last 18 months have really drilled home is that community is everything. So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part for their effort and commitment to support our local community and charities. You should all be very proud.”
Jersey Finance aims to raise £60,000 for the AJC, and efforts to reach this target will continue into 2022 with a 60 Years of Finance Diamond Jubilee charity ball due to take place in July.
