Five Carey Olsen funds lawyers have been recognised in the International Who’s Who of Private Funds Lawyers 2011.
Partners Graham Hall, Tom Carey, Ben Morgan and Eve Kosofsky and consultant, Nigel Carey from Carey Olsen have been named. The publication features only specialists who have met independent research criteria. The research is based upon comprehensive, independent survey work carried out with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide.
Nigel Carey is a highly acknowledged corporate lawyer and regularly advises banks and mutual funds in Guernsey. Identified as one of the Offshore World's top investment fund lawyers, head of Group, Graham Hall has more than 20 years' experience in investment funds and finance and is instructed by prestigious clients from around the Globe. Graham has advised the Government and contributed to much of Guernsey's company, tax and investment funds legislation.
Tom Carey specialises in corporate, commercial and financial services law, advising companies and retail and institutional investment funds. Ben Morgan is instructed by numerous UK law firms and financial institutions and has significant experience in establishing investment funds and real estate investment trusts. Eve Kosofsky heads the Jersey Funds team and provides the legal support to a portfolio of institutional and entrepreneurial clients, covering establishments, restructurings, transactions, regulatory and advisory work. Eve is a member of the Committee of the Jersey Funds Association which reviews as well as initiates proposals for legislative changes in Jersey, and which enables Eve to play a key role in the development of the legal and regulatory framework for investment funds in Jersey.
Since 1996 Who’s Who Legal has identified the foremost legal practitioners in multiple areas of business law. The research process includes consultations with private practice lawyers of renown either in the practice area in question or in related fields as well as with general counsel. The individuals and firms they recommend are then canvassed using questionnaires and the returned data is collated with information gleaned from the legal and financial media and feedback from corporate counsel.
John Kelleher, Carey Olsen’s chairman, said: “Who’s Who Legal is based on a rigorous nomination process so to have five lawyers recognised amongst the world’s finest demonstrates the high level of funds expertise at Carey Olsen.”
