Growth in Walkers’ Jersey office continues with the arrival of five new lawyers in the Investment Funds & Corporate, Banking & Finance and Employment law practice groups.

Jonathan Heaney, the Managing Partner of Walkers’ Jersey office said: “We continue to invest in and grow our Jersey business. Despite the disruption caused by the Global Pandemic, our headcount in Jersey has more than doubled in the past three years. The arrivals of Antonia, Marco, Jenny, Charlotte and Maria add further strength to our practice groups, and in particular, add further regulatory law experience in response to increasing client demand. We are very pleased to welcome all five new lawyers to the Jersey office as our strategic growth in the Channel Islands continues.”

The new joiners to Walkers’ Jersey office are Senior Associate Antonia Hull, Associates Marco Carossa and Jenny Brunton, Legal Assistant Maria Carolan, and Paralegal Charlotte Beal.

Antonia Hull joins the Investment Funds & Corporate practice as a Senior Associate, having previously practised with another leading offshore firm in Jersey. Before moving offshore, Antonia worked in the Infrastructure, Projects and Energy Group of Addleshaw Goddard. Antonia advises on a range of corporate, funds and regulatory matters, including: economic substance, AML requirements, outsourcing arrangements, and regulatory change of control applications.

Marco Carossa joins the Investment Funds & Corporate practice having previously practiced in London with Eversheds Sutherland. Marco advises on cross-border corporate, regulatory and compliance matters.

Jenny Brunton joins the Employment law practice, bringing with her experience of advising on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a particular emphasis on tribunal claims, advisory matters, and handbook policy reviews and enhancements.

Maria Carolan (legal assistant) and Charlotte Beal (paralegal) join the Banking & Finance and Investment Funds & Corporate teams respectively, supporting the firm’s push to increase the depth of talent across its core transactional practice groups.

Fraser Hern, Head of Walkers’ Channel Islands business, commented: “We are fortunate to be part of a truly global offshore law firm. Our primary and collective goal is to provide clients access to the market leading offshore legal advisory practice. That requires our teams to be collaborative and supportive in their mind set, to have a multi-jurisdictional outlook, and to be technically excellent. Through a rigorous recruitment process, we are pulling together market-leading teams who are driven and client orientated, but who also support each other and celebrate each other’s success. It is a tremendous journey to be part of. Despite the very significant investment and growth over the past three years, the Channel Islands expansion still feels like it is only just getting started.”
