Appleby has further strengthened its Private Client and Trusts Practice in Jersey with the appointment of Advocate Marc Guillaume. Marc advises on all aspects of trust law, particularly specialising in foundations, pensions, employee benefits and charities. Prior to joining Appleby, Marc worked for both Ogier and Mourant in Jersey.

Marc has a wealth of experience, acting for a wide range of professional trustees and both private and corporate settlors. He also has considerable knowledge in the establishment and operation of offshore structures for private clients.

Qualifying as an English barrister in 1993, he was sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 1998. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in English in 1990 and subsequently studied for the Common Professional Examination at the College of Law, winning the annual prize in Equity & Trusts.

Marc has contributed to a number of publications and most recently co-authored “A Foundation Stone for Continental Investors”, an article written on the recently-introduced Foundations (Jersey) Law 2009 which appeared in the October 2008 edition of The Jersey and Guernsey Law Review.

Michael O’Connell, Managing Partner of the Jersey office, commented “We are very pleased to welcome Marc to Appleby.
